"Patience” - Original Painting

The First original painting, of my debut collection. ‘THROUGH THE EYES OF AN ARTIST’

A body of work, where each piece is inspired by a thought, feeling or emotion. That I dealt with, in my first year as a full time Artist.

2023 was the best, yet worst year of my life. At the same time…

It was the year I took the chance and became a full time Artist, Perusing my passion. 2023 brought the highest of highs, but the lowest of lows. However, If I didn’t use these negative emotions for something positive. They would have used me.
Financial stress, self doubt and heartbreak really tested me last year, but it was just the inspiration I needed to create an incredible collection of work.

This piece is titled patience, because patience is so Important to me. I’ve needed to be patient to paint for 7-10 hours a day, 6 days a week. I’ve needed to be patient when growing my business, because there was very little returns in the early days.

If it wasn’t for Patience, there would be no Jordan Breen Art.

From a design point of view, every element has been considered. Lotus flowers and the heron are present as they are symbolic to patience. The colour palette of blues and oranges has been carefully selected, as to me this represents patience. A fine balancing act of energy and Calm.

My definition of patience may be different to yours, but I think we can agree that it is an essential skill that we all need, to navigate life.
